Globe Hopper Raffles Official Rules
Effective From June 2024

 

APPLICABILITY OF THESE OFFICIAL RULES: These official rules stipulate the general terms and conditions applicable to every prize draw (competition).

This website and competition are operated by “GLOBEHOPPER.CO.UK also referred to as “we” or “us”.

PLEASE CAREFULLY READ THESE OFFICIAL AND CHECK THEM ON A REGULAR BASIS. THIS IS A BINDING CONTRACT BETWEEN THE PROMOTER AND YOU AND MAY BE SUBJECT TO CHANGE FROM TIME TO TIME.

  1. Globe Hopper Raffles will be referred to in these official rules as “THE PROMOTER”.

 

  1. THE WEBSITE: The Globe Hopper website globehopper.co.uk (the “Website”) allows individuals to enter competitions hosted on the Website (each will be referred to as “Competition”). 20% of profits made from each Competition will be donated to a company/organisation, group or not-for-profit organisation (registered in England & Wales and currently trading) that provide support to children and young people (the “Company”)

 

  1. APPLICABILITY OF THESE OFFICIAL RULES: These official rules are a binding contract between The Promoter and each Competition entrant (a “Entrant”). By entering into any Competition this means that the Entrant agrees to these Official Rules and the Promoters decisions which are final and binding in relation to all matters regarding the Website and all Competitions. PLEASE DO NOT ENTER ANY COMPETITION IF YOU DO NOT AGREE TO THESE OFFICIAL RULES.

 

  1. From time to time these Official Rules may be updated. To ensure that at the time of entering any Competition. Please check these Official Rules each time you enter any Competition.

 

 

  1. GENERAL:  
    1. When entering any Competition all Entrants must provide all contact details (including a valid email address) as requested by the Promoter. These details will be used for the following purposes:
      1. to comply with our privacy policy
      2. to inform the winner that they have won a Competition prize
      3. to post the winners name and city/town of residency on our social media accounts (Facebook, Instagram and TikTok) and our website
  1. It is the Entrants sole responsibility to ensure the contact details provided to the Promoter are current and accurate. 
  1. The Promoter will not be liable in any way if they are unable to make contact with any Entrant due to any inaccuracies, errors or omissions in the contact details provided by the Entrant when entering the Competition. 
  1. It is recognised by the Promoter and the Entrant that the Promoter may use any contact details and other data (as defined by the Data Protection Act 1998) provided by the Entrant to the Promoter to administer the Competition according to these Official Rules. 
  1. It is also recognised that the Promoters whether by choice or at the request of a third party, will disclose this information to relevant third parties for the purposes of fraud prevention, money laundering and a legal, regulatory or other financial reason. 
  1. There is no limit placed on the number of entries an individual can make via this Website. 
  1. By entering into any Competition, all Entrants are acknowledging that any free or paid entries they make is not a guarantee in any way that they will win any Prize. 
  1. Both the Promoter and the Entrants recognise that the Competition, its administration and all associated activities are governed by English law. Also, that in the event of any dispute arising from the Competition or its administration the County or High Courts of England shall have exclusive jurisdiction. 
  1. On receipt of all Entries, they will become the property of the Promoter and will not be returned. 
  1. ELIGIBILITY: To be eligible to enter a Competition or to be awarded the prize(s) identified for each Competition on the Website, an Entrant must fully comply with the Official Rules. 
  1. Only entries made by via the Website by Entrants (or via postal entry). 
  1. Only completed entries will be entered into the draw. 
  1. Competitions are only open to all persons who at the time of entry into a Competition and at the time the Potential Winner/Winner (as appropriate) is selected:
    1. are aged 18 or over and residing in the United Kingdom
    2. are legal residents in the United Kingdom.
    3. and are not:
      1. any employees, officer, and/or directors of Globe Hopper Raffles
      2. anyone else connected with the development or operation of the Website or administration of the Competition in any way, shape or form.
      3. the immediate family members of (meaning parent, child, spouse, sibling and their respective spouses, regardless of where they reside) and/or those living in the same household (whether or not they are related) as any employees, officers and/or directors of Globe Hopper Raffles. 
  1. Globe Hopper Raffles may require Entrants to provide documentary evidence (e.g. passport, driving licence, utility bill etc) to confirm their eligibility. 
  1. By entering any Competition, Entrants are declaring that all the information they submit is true, current, accurate and complete. The Promoters reserve the right to disqualify any Entrant (entirely at their own discretion) if there are reasonable grounds to believe the Entrant has acted in breach of any of these Official Rules. 
  1. HOW TO ENTER: Each Competition will have a starting and ending date and time (referred to as the “Period of Entry”) specified on the Current Competition page of the Website. Only entries that are received by the Promoter during the Period of Entry will be valid and entered into the Competition. The Promoter will be the official timekeeper for all Competitions. 
  1. Competition Draws: All Competition draws can be entered via the following methods of entry:
    1. Paid Entry (“Paid Entry”) To enter using this method all persons should visit www.globehopper.co.uk and select the “enter now” or “get tickets” button on the homepage or current competitions page of the above Website.
    2. A ticket bundle should then be selected to purchase entries (“Entry Fee). Each ticket bundle comes with a set number of tickets for entry into the draw. On the payment/cart page follow the instructions and enter all requested personal information and payment information and complete the payment. Once payment is received your tickets for the number of entries selected will be emailed to you within 24 hours, and you will be entered for a chance to win the Competition. There is no limit on the number of entries an individual can submit.
    3. Free Postal Entry (“Postal Entry”): To enter any competition via the free postal entry method write your full legal name, home address (no PO box addresses accepted), city, postcode, email address, phone number (optional) and the name and value of the Competition that the entry is for (i.e. £5000 Holiday), on a postcard only (without envelope). No letters will be accepted. Post the completed entry postcard to Globe Hopper Raffles 30 Ranelagh Rd, Wolverhampton WV2 3EJ. No mechanically reproduced entries are allowed. There is a limit of (1) postal entry per postcard. Each entry received using the Postal Entry method of entry will be the equivalent to a single entry into the Competition. The entry will be deemed valid at the point when it is received and processed by the Promoter. There is no limit on the number of entries submitted using the Postal Entry method of entry. 
  1. THE PRIZE: The purpose of the Contest is to win the Prize. Further details in relation to the Promoter’s title to the Prize can be found on the Website. 
  1. The winner of our monetary competitions should select a holiday of their choice, with a number of passengers selected by the winner that does not exceed the value of the prize value. This should include the costs of any baggage, seating, visa’s, transfers and any other associated costs. 
  1. The Promoter can (at the request of the winner) assist the winner in finding a holiday to the winner’s requirements. 
  1. The winner has 60 days following the date and time of the Competition draw to inform the Promoter of the holiday they wish to book. Should the winner not select a holiday during this 60 day the prize will become null, and void and the winner shall forfeit their right to receive any prize. The Promoter shall be entitled to award the Prize to an Alternative Entrant who will be selected by randomly drawing another winning entry using the same method as described below in the COMPETITION The drawn Entrant will be referred to as “The Alternative Winner”. The Alternate Winner will have 7 days from notification of their status as the Alternative Winner by the Promoter to communicate their acceptance of the Competition Prize. 
  1. Should there be any monies remaining once the holiday has been booked these will be transferred via bank transfer to a UK bank account in the name of the winner only. Monies will not be sent via any other methods or to any account not in the UK. 
  1. THE COMPETITION: The process of determining the winner of any Competition will begin within 3 days of the closing date of the Competition and a full and final decision will be made on the day of the Competition draw.
  2. All Entries to the Competition are final and no refunds shall be made at any time or for any reason, except in the case where entries were submitted after the Closing Date and Time.
  3. When the Maximum Number of Paid Ticket Bundles or the Closing Date reaches, the Competition will close. However, the Promoter reserves the right to extend the closing date by up to 2 months at their discretion
  4. All potential winners of a Competition will be selected using a verifiably random process from all eligible entries received. Entrants will have their names and ticket numbers put into a spreadsheet and a number assigned to each of there ticket codes for the random draw. This spreadsheet will be visible during the live draw. If you wish to have your name censored from the spreadsheet for the live draw please contact contact@globehopper.co.uk with reasonable time left before the prize draw takes place.
  5. The draw will be livestreamed on Facebook and Instagram and may at times be in the presence of an audience of invited guests and members of the Press. The Competition draw will take place on or after the end of the Period of Entry. Following the Competition draw the selected winning unique entry code will be announced on our Website, and the identified winner announced (Subject to completion of all identification and verification processes in accordance with these Official Rules. One the Entrant has been confirmed and verified as eligible to win the Entrant is referred to as the “Winner”. The odds of winning are dependent upon the number of eligible entries received during the Period of Entry.

  6. The Promoters’ decision is final, and no correspondence will be entered into about the result of the Competition following the determination of the Winner as described above.
  7. The Winner of any Competition agrees to media coverage following the live draw, which includes but is not limited to being featured in the Press and being featured in a social media post. 
  8. CLOSING THE COMPETITION: As per the clause 28 above when the Maximum Number of Paid Ticket Bundles is reached the Competition can be closed.
  9. The Promoter will be entitled to retain 30% of the Total Entry Fees received to cover Administration and Marketing expenditure.
  10. DONATING 20% OF PROFITS: 20% of all profits (“20% of Profits) made from any Competition will be donated to a company/organisation, group or charity that is registered with the Registrar of Companies for England and Wales.
  11. The company/organisation, group or charity that will receive the 20% of Profits will be selected at random immediately following the Competition draw. The company/organisation, group or charity that is selected will be referred to as the (“Winning Company”) and will be selected at random using the same method as all Competition draws. All nominations received via the Website only before the Closing Date and Time will be entered into the random draw for the 20% of Profits.
  12. The Winning Company will be notified that they were selected within 24 hours of the draw. The Winning Company will need to be verified to ensure that it is registered with the Registrar of Companies for England and Wales and is currently trading and delivering services. The services delivered must have the aim of improving the lives and futures of children and young people from a deprived area or background. If the Winning Company cannot be contacted (within 7 days) or verified, then an (“Alternative Winning Company”) will be randomly selected to receive the 20% of Profits.
  13. Following verification of the eligibility of the Winning Company to receive the 20% of Profits the monies (Total Entry fees minus 30% to cover Promoters administration and Marketing costs) will be transferred to the business bank account of the Winning Company or Alternative Winning Company.
  14. OTHER ISSUES: Globe Hopper Raffles may amend these Official Rules at any time. Any amendments will be posted on the Website and it is agreed that all persons will be bound by any changes in these Official Rules from the date they are published on the Website. For entries already submitted for a Competition, the changes will not apply, but they will apply to any future entries submitted after the date on which the amendments become effective. The last revision of these Official Rules is published at the top of this page.
  15. All Winners agree permit the Promoters to display their name on the Website in accordance with the privacy policy. The details that will be published on our Website and social media accounts are the name, age and town/city of residence of the Winner for the sole purposes of announcing the Competition Winner within 24 hours of the Winner being selected.
  16. Entrants authorise the Promoter to enter and store their personal details into their database and to use the information in accordance with the provisions of the Data Protection Act 1998 and subject to the terms of privacy policy.
  17. The Promoter reserves the right to cancel any Competition at any time either before or after ticket bundles have been sold. If the Competition is cancelled, the Promoters will return the Entry Fees to each Entrant (either by bank card refund or by cheque and in one combined payment where several entries have been made by a Entrant). Where the Entry Fee is returned, the Promoter shall have no further liability to the Entrant or to any other person;
  18. Save for death or personal injury the Promoters will not be liable for any loss (including economic loss) suffered to or sustained by any person or property as a result of any act or omission of the Promoter, nor will their servants or their agents in developing, planning and Administrating the Competition, distributing the Prize to the Winner or following the distribution of the Prize; The Promoter accepts no liability for errors or omissions contained within the Prize details, description or specification or any other part of the Website. It is the responsibility of each Entrant (and in particular the Winner) to satisfy themselves as to the accuracy of any such details and/or any content of this website.
  1. The Promoter will not be liable for any loss suffered by an Entrant because of incomplete entries or failed computer communications or for any loss suffered as a result of use of the Website.
  2. The Promoter does not accept responsibility for entries which they do not receive due to failures in computer systems, other malfunctions, high Internet traffic, hardware failure, software failure, server faults or any other reason.
  3. These Official Rules shall not create or be construed as creating any form of contract, joint venture or other agreement between any Entrant and the Promoter.
  4. A Competition entry shall be declared void (without any refund being given) if the Entrant engages in:
  1. any form of fraud (actual or apparent)
  2. fraudulent misrepresentation
  3. fraudulent concealment
  4. hacking or interference with the proper functioning of the website, or
  5. amending, or unauthorised use of, any of the code that constitutes the Website.
  1. Each entrant should retain a copy of these Official Rules for their future reference.
